No exemption for farmers from duty to register ownership
Farmers are included in the new legal obligation to maintain a public register of people with significant (PSC) control of a business, under new rules that came into force on 6 April. family members with small shareholdings may still qualify as a PSC if they exercise influence over other shareholders and how they vote. Nominee companies and companies owned by trusts also need to make sure they submit the required information, with non-compliance being a criminal offence.
