Ex-attorney general questions code changeDominic Grieve, the former attorney general, says it is impossible to understand why the government has removed a passage from the ministerial code requiring members of the government to comply with international law. The code had referred to an “overarching duty on ministers to comply with the law including international law and treaty obligations and to uphold the administration of justice”, but now just calls for compliance with “the law.” Mr Grieve said the change “sends out a very bad signal and is open to misunderstanding
