ECJ former advocate general: “EU law will always prevail”
Sir Francis Jacobs, a former advocate general at the European Court of Justice, has said EU law will always prevail as long as Britain remains within it, dismissing plans set to be unveiled by David Cameron to make clear the sovereignty of the British parliament. Meanwhile, European Parliament president Martin Schulz has warned that Britain was “testing the patience” of MEPs and that many have said: “If the Brits want to leave, let them leave.” David Cameron rejected Mr Schulz’s assertion that any agreements made during the renegotiations could be reversed after the referendum on EU membership
