Petextrians in New Jersey face fine for distracted walking

Legislators in New Jersey are proposing a ban on texting while walking, which would require pedestrians to use hands-free devices or face a $50 fine. Pamela Lampitt, who proposed the law, said: “Distracted pedestrians, like distracted drivers, present a potential danger to themselves and drivers on the road.”
