INHERITANCE TAX – Fear of residential care costs discourages IHT planning
More than a third of people aged over 65 have been put off inheritance planning because they believe the cost of their own long-term care will leave them little to pass on to the next generation, according to a survey by Investec. However the survey of 2,200 people also found that the elderly significantly overestimate the length of time they are likely to require long-term care.
