The European Court of Justice on Thursday ruled that employees who do not have a fixed workplace must be compensated for the journey to their first job in the morning and the journey home from their last job in the evening.
Time spent by plumbers, decorators and carers driving to their first customer of the day would count towards their working week, the European court ruled.
