RSPCA adjusts prosecution policy
The RSPCA has apologised over the way it has handled prosecutions amid claims it had strayed far from its traditional role of caring for animals. The association has now pledged to pass more cases to the CPS instead of using private prosecutions. The RSPCA said: “We apologise for past mistakes where an investigation wasn’t carried out to the standard we would hope, both for the animal involved and their owners.”
