DNDLAW on REGULATION: Plans for strict new anti-money laundering controls
The Home Office has published reforms to the UK’s anti-money laundering regime. New powers will allow the authorities to issue ‘unexplained wealth orders’ requiring individuals to declare the source of their wealth, along with new powers to allow seizure of money from bank accounts where the owners’ answers were unsatisfactory.
